Great post Elliot. To add my two cents, as a web designer, I find it amazing following guru designers and developers with Twitter, as it makes me think like I'm in that circle of people and everytime Twitterrific notifies me a new tweet, I read it as it came from an old friend of mine. This helps me being more confident and having a wider perspective of my job and career. Kinda attitude inspiration...

Great article! This is exactly in line with a site I've built recently with a friend of mine called extendr.com. Simple idea -- just a slick place for a person to stick all of their online identities into one place. Then, share your extendr address (mine is http://neil.extendr.com) and someone who's interested in finding out more about you has an easy place to do so..

Anyway.. hope you don't mind the blatant advertising -- but thought it was appropriate - and you might like to know I did build the site with CodeIgniter!
