I recently wrote a post mentioning Browsershots - a service which allows you to request screenshots of your site in different browsers/operating systems.
While that’s all well and good, how about the ability to test things live? Like AJAX, Javascript and all that other fun magic. Well, now there’s a service that lets you do all that! ‘CrossBrowserTesting‘, a service which lets you request VPN time on a wide range of different browsers and operating systems.
The choice is quite amazing, and the service seems pretty stable!
Here’s a few screenshots of it in action:
Safari - Very slick rendering!

CrossBrowserTesting.com is a new service designed to let website designers see what their website looks like in different browsers and in different operating systems. It is based on virtual server technology which allows us to keep costs low and pass the savings on to you.
You can check cross-browser compatibility under many different configurations so that you can feel comfortable that your site looks and works the way it should. Check out the demo.
In these days of Web 2.0 and AJAX applications, a picture just isn’t enough. You put a lot of hard work into those javascript driven features and you need to actually use your website to get the feel of how it works across multiple browsers & operating systems. CrossBrowserTesting.com offers you this opportunity!
It seems like they’ve produced a pretty nice service. My only problem with it, is that the VPN over web isn’t quite fast enough for my liking. Most of the javascript I test is usually drowned with effects, and I like to see how those effects actually perform in real-time.
But, other than that, it seems like a good service. Give it a try!
Hi,
Thanks for posting about our service! In reading your post, I got the impression that you think we are affiliated with browsershots, which we are not. They offer a great service for sure, but we think that the interactivity that our service allows will be useful for testing “Web 2.0″ functionality among other things.
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that you knew that we are an entirely different company and thus far, all guys.
Thanks again for the mention.
Mike
Hey, sorry about that, I’ve changed the post accordingly.
No Mac support? Boo.
David - right you are - we needed Mac support - and we now have it! We are now providing Mac OSX 10.5.4 configurations. Thanks for the feedback.
